GLOBAL MISSIONS

Global missions is our way of partnering with God’s work around the world, supporting those He has called to serve long-term in the mission field. By partnering with missionaries who bring the hope of Christ to unreached communities, we actively participate in God’s redemptive mission.

OUR MISSIONARIES

Japan

  • 99% of Japanese are not Christians. 95% have never even heard. Mustard Seed Network desires to see the cities of Japan saturated with the gospel and impacted by gospel-centered churches. Since the early 2000's, the Wests have been doing evangelism, supporting churches, coffee shop outreach, and church planting in Japan. They started Mustard Seed Christian Church - Saitama in March of 2025. Pray for gospel advance in Saitama and throughout Japan.

  • Upon graduating from university, Reo found his church home at Wintersburg, where he served primarily through musical worship and college & young adult ministry. In late 2016, God led Reo to pursue ministry in Kobe, Japan, where he helped the Wests plant Mustard Seed Christian Church-Kobe and met his wife, Naomi. After their marriage, they moved to northern Japan to help start Mustard Seed Christian Church-Sendai, where God has blessed them with three kids. Reo became head pastor of the church plant in the summer of 2024.

  • Emi and Sterling serve as missional partners with Kokubunji Baptist Church, located an hour west of Tokyo. Emi worked with A3 & SIM missionary families in Japan as the field leader of Missionary Care, but now is on study leave working on her MS in Marriage Family Therapy. Sterling works for A3 & SIM mission leadership to support the development of missionaries and their Japanese pastors. They desire to build and invest in meaningful relationships to empower Japanese Christians and be a light in their local community.

  • Samuel is a Korean missionary, gospel singer, and visual artist who has served in Japan for over 20 years. He leads UTMOST, a ministry that shares the gospel through music, film, and dance. He serves together with his wife, Airi Suzuki, a choreographer and artistic director of the Fukuoka International Dance Festival. Together, they seek to reveal the love of Christ through creative expression and build authentic, gospel-centered community in Japan and beyond.

Spain

  • Spain has a Catholic heritage, but most of the population is secular and uninterested in God. David and Dina serve in Spain to share about Jesus through their church, Iglesia Cristiana Evangélica Los Hechos, and by launching an English school called Conversational Club to reach those who would not enter a church. Launching in early 2026, the school’s vision is to move people from conversation to commitment to community, inspired by Acts 16 and the story of Lydia.

Orange County, California

  • Setsu is the North America Director at JCFN. Her role supports Japanese in North America to become Christ's disciples, and equipping and sending them to Japan and beyond.

  • Dave and Kelly have been ministering to college students for 37 years, serving on campuses in Colorado, Arizona, Costa Rica, and California.  They currently oversee about 80 Navigator staff serving on 14 campuses in California, Arizona, and Hawaii.  The Navigators collegiate ministry seeks to help college students know Christ, make Him known, and help others do the same.

  • Eriya and Becky are preparing to move from Japan to the US to reach out to Japanese residing in the LA area. They have a special burden to reach the diaspora Japanese and disciple them so that they may be equipped to return to Japan to make an impact for Christ.

  • Aileen serves with The Navigators at UC Irvine, advancing the gospel among international students, with a particular focus on reaching least-reached Japanese students for nearly two decades. Her desire is to raise the next generation of disciple-makers who will make Christ known, from here to the nations.
